Getting Your Eyelash Extension or Cluster Lashes Wet
For the first 48 hours after your lash application, avoid getting your new lashes wet.
The water will react to the eyelash glue, causing the bond to become more brittle and easy to break.
We recommend a bath over a shower to ensure your lashes stay dry the first 48 hours. After the 48 hours you are good to shower, swim, etc.
Top tip: When showering, don’t position your head in the full strength of water flow. Let the water instead run down your face.
How Do I Clean My Eyelash Extensions?
After the first 48 hours, residue will start to build up around the lash line if you don't wash your extensions. You're going to want to clean your lashes every 3 days.
You can do so by following these simple steps:
1. Be sure to have clean hands to avoid any eye infections or any other eye issues.
2. Brush your lashes with a soft bristle brush.
3. Wash them with a special eyelash extension cleanser or distilled water.
4.Let the water from your shower run down your face and over your eyes.
Getting into this habit removes traces of natural oils, dust and make-up. This prevents any build-ups causing pressure on your lashes and breaking down the bond. Ultimately, maintaining your lashes by cleaning them will help avoid premature lash shedding.
Can I Wear Makeup?
You’ll also want to skip mascara, even the ones that market themselves as “extension-safe.” Waterproof makeup, such as waterproof mascara, can soften the glue on your lash extensions.
If you use eyeliner, opt for a water-based, non-waterproof version — and be gentle when you remove your makeup at the end of the night.
Rubbing your eyes isn’t good for your extensions. It could damage them and your real lashes.
Powdery eyeshadow might not be a great idea either, as the powder can get stuck in the glue and build up over time.
